Methodology

Changelog

A methodology version changes when the eligible universe, hardware panel, admission rules, normalization, or aggregation changes. Market price movement alone does not create a release.

dense-bf16-v1.1.3

Oct 29Method
  • A direct cloud's posted price keeps voting for a product for up to 6 hours after that provider last had a counted in-stock vote for it. The price is always the provider's current posted price; if the provider stops posting one, the vote is gone.
  • Marketplaces, aggregators, and bid sources never get sold-out votes.
  • A product round needs at least one in-stock vote. Every round shows how many of its counted votes were in stock and how many were sold out.
  • Round identity now pins four independent version streams: hardware registry, product panel, provider universe, and voting policy. Each stream's content is hashed and checked in. Versions only move forward: a correction is published as a new version, and no published round or receipt is revised.
  • H100 PCIe throughput now cites NVIDIA's H100 architecture whitepaper; the 756.5 value is unchanged (hardware registry dense-bf16-v0.6.1).
  • Panel, vote and collector thresholds, and unit are unchanged; adds a one in-stock vote quorum test. Not a level break. Old rounds and receipts remain unchanged.

dense-bf16-v1.1.2

Oct 15Method
  • Added E2E Networks, QuantaCloud, and SimplePod to the provider universe.
  • E2E Networks owns Jarvis Labs. When both quote a product, only E2E Networks counts.
  • SimplePod votes only when a product clears the marketplace floor of five machines on three hosts.
  • Panel, quorum, and unit are unchanged. Old rounds and receipts remain unchanged.

dense-bf16-v1.1.1

Oct 14Method
  • Added Prime Intellect to the provider universe. Only offers whose upstream supplier is verified can vote; Nebius is the only new supplier.
  • Counted the GPU list price only for Prime Intellect; separately billed disk, vCPU, and memory are excluded, as for every provider.
  • Panel, quorum, and unit are unchanged. Old rounds and receipts remain unchanged.

dense-bf16-v1.1.0

Oct 5Method
  • Added H200 SXM5 and L40 PCIe to the canonical panel of nine products.
  • Changed composite quorum from six of seven to seven of nine valid products.
  • Admitted verified eight-GPU H200 SXM5 node-hour prices only; no second per-GPU division.
  • Marked the unadjusted USD per dense BF16 PFLOP-hour level break. Old rounds and receipts remain unchanged.

dense-bf16-v1.0.1

Sep 21Method
  • Raised product quorum to at least three independent supply votes from three distinct collecting providers.
  • Limited retained product rounds to composites with the same complete publication identity.
  • Prevented composites from mixing methodology versions.

dense-bf16-v1.0.0

Sep 21Valid
  • Separated product publication from composite publication.
  • Allowed the composite to publish with six of seven valid, non-stale products.
  • Added a 1,800-second product staleness limit and explicit fresh, retained, missing, and stale states.
  • Published exact product round references and counted supply votes with every composite.

dense-bf16-v0.11.2-candidate

Sep 21Candidate
  • Separated methodology, eligibility, source, and receipt policy identities from the hardware registry.
  • Applied provider-specific freshness limits across canonical, expanded-panel, and coverage calculations.
  • Recorded each provider’s mapping, voting, and source policy in calculation selection.
